As parking is limited in Oxford we suggest using the Gloucester Green Car Park - OX1 2BN. It is a 2-minute walk to the Ashmolean Museum. 105 Spaces, 8.00 am – 8.00 pm
Walking
From the centre of town (outside Carfax Tower) the Ashmolean Museum is a 5-minute walk. Walk north down Cornmarket street towards Golden Cross, continue on to Magdalen Street, turn left on to Beaumont Street and the Ashmolean Museum will be right in front of you.
By Bus
There is a bus stop very close to the museum on Magdalen Street, the City 2, City 6, Park and Ride 300 (Pear Tree) and Park and Ride 500 (Oxford Parkway) all stop here. The Ashmolean Museum is very close to the city centre and not a long walk from most central bus stops.
By Train
These are directions from the main Oxford train station, not Oxford Parkway. Exit the train station by walking downhill past rows of bike racks. At the end of the bike racks, take the pedestrian crossing across the road. On the opposite side of the road is the Saïd Business School, follow this with the building on your left side. Continue up this road (Hythe Bridge Street) until you get to a large junction with traffic lights. Follow the pavement round to the left until you reach another set of traffic lights. Take the pedestrian crossing across the road to Beaumont Street. Walk up Beaumont Street until you see a large neoclassical building on the left, this is the Ashmolean Museum.
