The credits earned from an HND are equivalent to the first two years of an undergraduate programme. A majority of universities in the UK, and internationally, will give you a placement in the final (Third) year of an undergraduate degree course.
Programme Overview
The HND (Higher National Diploma) in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management is a Level 5 qualification, equivalent to the second year of a UK Bachelor’s degree. It includes an embedded Level 4 qualification, the HNC (Higher National Certificate), and it can lead to the final year of a Bachelor’s program. This HND program is designed to help you understand the influence of national culture and the economy on entrepreneurship. You will explore the personal traits of entrepreneurs and the impact of situational factors, such as education and background. Additionally, you will learn about the role and significance of small businesses in the economy, including social enterprises and the social economy. Through the HND in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, you will develop skills to identify market gaps and turn them into financial opportunities. You will also learn how to take calculated risks while being mindful of potential challenges

An Inside Look Into HND in Entrepreneurship
and Small Business Management
Pearson
HND in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management will help you explore how to spot a gap in the market then turn it into a financial opportunity. You will learn how to take successful risks while being on your guard against potential hurdles.
Each individual unit carries 15 credits. You are required to secure 240 credits to complete your HND in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management.

Students are assessed through practical tasks, work projects, assignments and written work during their time on the course.
2 Years (4 Days A Week)
For entry in an HND programme, the student must have at least one of the following in academics
- A level pass or equivalent
- A BTEC level-3 qualification in Business
- Other related level-3 qualifications or recognised equivalent qualification
- An Access to a Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved Further Education institution
- Related work experience (two years or more of relevant full-time work experience). As part of our entry requirements, applicants who may not have the necessary qualifications, may be considered through their relevant work experience (3 years minimum). As part of the application process, applicants will be required to provide a copy of their CV and a reference letter from employers.
The students will also be required to prove their fluency in English language. Overseas students for whom English is not their mother-tongue will need to provide evidence that their English is good enough to keep up with the course. This can be any one of the following:
- IELTS 5.5, with a minimum of 5.5 in both Reading and Writing
- CEFR level B2
- PTE 51
- Or approved equivalent.
All online study materials and student handbooks are supplied. You will be allocated a tutor for academic support who you can contact as required by phone and email. You will also have access to a Student Support Coordinator for administrative support. You will also complete an online induction and have access to an online virtual learning environment.
Magna Carta College HND programme takes 2 years to complete and is delivered online via Flexible Distributed Learning method.
We recommend an average of 12-15 hours study time per week for this programme
